My Breeder Male Prospect Has Eaten!! Darn-it!

Sunshine Nov 27, 2005 06:42 PM

The last 3 years this was the time I start warming up and putting them with their dates. Without a heat source my cages are still too warm. Even my proven male ate Friday and is not wandering at all. At this rate my 06's will be born in 07.

Linda,
..I fed some of my BRBs thursday night. It has been very warm here. I will wait until the temperature drops before trying to cool them.

I don't think there's any reason to give up yet. My males have been cooling for weeks and they're still aggressively feeding. In fact, I get frustrated here every year because, although I start my cooling in November, my males never go off feed until the spring. I usually don't see any breeding at all until April or May. So, during the summer I have to sit and look at all of your successful clutches while mine are still 3 months away. Oh well, they're just gonna do it when they're ready.

Good luck, I'm betting he'll go for you this year. Speaking of bets, how about that pool? Largest clutch? Largest baby?

Mike
