sleeping with head on its side

shinysnakeskin Nov 28, 2005 10:40 AM

i went to check on our snakes this morning. making sure everyones got water and that their homes are clean. our newest girl Ivy was sleeping up against the wall of her cage and her head was on its side... me being a worry wart i went and picked her up to make sure she was okay. she seemed fine. shes about to shed right now. i checked the temps to see if they where too high, but they seemed fine. what do you think it means if their heads on on their sides? maybe it doesnt mean anything and im just over protective? maybe thats just how they sometimes lay kinda like humans, stretch out and get comfy?
any help or info would be nice. thank you

Defending his light,
And wondering...
Where the hell have I been?
Sleeping, lost, and numb.
So glad that I have found you.

Sam, you'll find that snakes will put themselves in all kinds of positions. They do have several hundred sets of ribs, after all . Which makes for an almost contortionnist way of doing most everything they do. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.
