Breeding/Genetics questions

TangerineKing Nov 28, 2005 02:50 PM

I've been reading up on the breeding/genetics process when it comes to geckos. I'm still about line-bred morphs and breeding them with anythign else.

1. Breeding a jungle with a blizzard yields...?

2. Is a stripe considered line bred? I never found any info on them as far as that is concerned....

3. Breeding a line bred gecko to another kind would yield...? (i.e. A high yellow bred to a jungle)

thanks in advance... hopefully I can understand these more...

>>1. Breeding a jungle with a blizzard yields...?

>>(1) If the (jungle) is a (normal phase jungle) you can roughly expect = (normals) and (aberrant normals) het (blizzard) you may get one or two (normal phase jungle) het (blizzard).

>>2. Is a stripe considered line bred? I never found any info on them as far as that is concerned....

>>(2) (Stripe phase) are the result of line breeding (jungle phase) so yes they are line bred .

>>3. Breeding a line bred gecko to another kind would yield...? (i.e. A high yellow bred to a jungle)

>>(3)Roughly you can expect from a (hi-yellow) x (standed jungle) = some (normals) & (hi-yellows) some (aberrant normals) & (hi-yellows) maybe one or two (jungle phase) .
