what to do with eggs

Jeebadog Nov 28, 2005 06:25 PM

ok my i looked at my dragon before and i noticed she didn't look as fat. She was digging last night as she always does and when i checked to see if she laid them i saw the tops of a couple and immediately stopped. Ive been researching but i always prefer the opinions given here. Im not confident on what exactly to do with the eggs

Also they said not to turn the eggs. In my haste of digging i accidentally flipped one egg over. Does that mean it will not hatch??

Thanks

it may hatch. so long as the air pocket is on top. are you putting these in an incubator? otherwise they won't hatch. she'll ruin them before they even get a chance.

you are kinda late....

i bought my incubator (a hovabator) off the internet...maybe a pet store will have one, but i dought it.

you need to set up the incubator a long time before the eggs are laid so that you can fine tune the setting to keep the temperature at 82-85 range. I've read that about 90 the embryo will die...but, i had a broken thermometer and hence temperatures above 90 and some eggs did hatch...so who really knows what they are talking about.

I'd get an incubator today and hope to catch the second clutch.

for the air pocket thing...you can usually tell by looking at the shape of the egg which side to put up. i forget because it's been a while, i'd need to look at an egg.

i tried to buy an incubator as soon as possible but i was forced to buy one online and it will take 5 to 8 business days to arrive. Right now the eggs are still where she laid them and im hoping they will be fine for the time being. Is there anyway i could make something temporarily while i wait for the incubator to arrive??
