My first eBay purchase is that book I recently asked about.

I can't wait to read it. It's 8 in Texas....time to go to bed! (I read and read before I go to sleep) Only one problem...this book will only take 30 minutes if I go slow.

Maybe there will be a color chart exclusively for me.....I must be color-blind. I will get it right!

Naked I see the camp of those who desire nothing

..I am late to work, extra crabby, and spaced out. I will mention that that I read/watch TV for at least 2 hours before actually going to sleep. I recently started to go to bed earlier (6 to 7 months ago) and have gotten many "thank you's" for being on time at work. Luckily I have a pretty non-threatening Employer who knows I haven't always been late as a general rule. I can sleep through alarms 2 feet from my face until it turns itself off. The dark circles under my eyes have also gone away.......well, mostly.

Anyway, I do like the pics in this book and am considering selling ALL the Rainbows for some Amazon Tree Boas....just kidding. I think this book is very opinionated and that the author must have been nailed badly by a few Rainbows in his time. I definately do not agree with the almost constant suggestions that they are just down right aggressive.

:P

of rainbows that despite a lot of handling and good husbandry (not patting myself on the back), still bite on a regular basis, but most of mine are puppy dog tame and have been for very long time.

I have encountered many people on the boa forum that have the impression that brb's are vampires. One thing I will say....from experience I would much rather take a hit from an adult brb than an adult boa.

Naked I see the camp of those who desire nothing

....I got bit by one of the 2005 BRBs a couple days ago. Of course nothing to it. It barely broke the skin on the top of my thumb. Afterwards I was thinking and realized that it was my first bite from any snake in awhile. Many of the new babies this year were biting about as expected for the first week but since then they and all of my snakes have been extremely mellow. The last bite that really got my attention was this spring when my usually calm 8 foot long female Surinam Boa apparently thought I was a rat and grabbed my hand and would not let go while she started wrapping around my arm. I stuffed a couple alcohol wipes in her mouth to make her let go. It was not a serious injury but it did hurt and was plenty bloody. The bite from an adult Rainbow Boa is nothing compared to the bite of a big Boa Constrictor.
