ive been wanting to get an iggy for a while but im reading up on them first.. i have researched them here and there since i was a kid, but im positive im going to get one soon ... just trying to get a job first so i dont make my poor bf pay for any more of my crap.
i even went to home depo today to look around at supplies to build a cage. (if anyone has some nice wire cage designs post a link or post a pic, i like to see other peoples designs for inspiration)
anyway, my question was what veggies can i feed the iggy. i already know the diet should be assorted greens (no crap lettuce) veggies, and a small bit of fruit. most things ive read only list a couple veggies like squash, lima beans, carrots, zucchini, but i would like a larger list of things that are good for an iggy and safe to eat for the vegetable portion of the diet. id prefer if you woudl name more normall stuff that i can find at the grocery store (or gourmet shop) and not bizzar plants most people have never heard of.
also, some things say that i dont need to add vitamins and calcium if i feed them the proper balanced diet of greens, veggies, and fruit, but i add calcium/vitamins for my turtle and geckos so wondering if i still should for an iggy. they sound like they need an extra bump of calcium, i just wanna make sure i dont give them too much calcium/vitamins.
hopefully no one will be a jerk and tell me "just go read up on them and you wont have to ask these questions". i have been reading up on them for YEARS and different people have slighty different care instructions for their iguanas. i like to check with reptile owners personally about how they care for their pet before i buy something new. i researched ball pythons for a while before i got one and he is way easier then i expected. i know an iggy isnt easy, it will be expensive and difficult but i will be ready for it when the time comes!
