Feedings inside or out the terrarium?

LuisMarques Nov 29, 2005 02:18 PM

I have been reading on this subject, and many places say that I should feed my snake out of the terrarium.
Is there any problem if I opt to feed her always inside her terrarium?

Yes there will be a problem if you keep feeding your snake inside a terrarium. Your snake will associate your putting your hand in the terrarium for feeding times and will expect prey...and eventually strike your hand. It is wise to always feed your snake in a "freedom breeder" container or simply a separate rubbermaid container during feeding times. Just ask any local zookeeper that deals with snakes and they will tell you the same advise.

Hope that helps,

Thanks,
