I got this ball python a few months ago after being contacted by a person who didn't feel they knew how to take care of it. They had found her left to die in a vacant apartment.
I got a little heat for giving the person money for it by some folks in here but I felt he should be compensated for his cost of rescuing the snake.
Anyway, I put her on paper towels instead of aspen for both feeding, sanitation, and humidity purpose. Its working good and she is doing great. She also has a much better heat system for digesting these big meals.
For about six meals I was giving her 100-200g rats and then I decided to bump her up a bit since it really was not doing anything for her. Her last three meals included a 296g, a 333g, and a 315g rat.
On 11-07 she weighed 1540g and on 11-27 she weighed 1838 after a big poop. She ate the 315g rat that night. Her other meals were on the 8th and the 18th. So she could afford to be cut back a big eventhough I feed a few days after the bulge is completely gone.
When I saw her laying on her side I figured her big meals might be a little uncomfortable for her so her next one will be a tad smaller.
