Iguana piercing expert...

L0wrider Nov 29, 2005 05:33 PM

So it seams Tiny wants to become a professional ear piercer...
Today i was feeding him grapes while he sat on my shoulder, when all of a sudden he bites my earlobe!
He didnt bite out of aggression, becuase when he does he rips at it when he bites. This was a mistake for him, but still gave me a bloody earlobe.

I guess no more shoulder treats for Tiny.

Never attempted to feed any of my herps while they were on my person. I guess I am just not that brave. Did the bite hurt? I was bitten by my male green iguana once, wasnt very painful but bled well. Wasn't a baby either, I think he was around 15 years old at the time and about 21 pounds lol.

Yeah he was big, Actually to tell you the truth when he hit about 15 years old he started getting over weight, was due to people feeding him stuff he didnt need (kids). By the time he was 17 years old he was down to 17 pounds and stayed there till he died a few months after his 19 year birthday.

Also wanted to add, looking back to when I got him (that was almost 24 years ago now) I am surprised that he did live as long as he did. When I got him I was 13 years old and back then people were still saying to feed cat food and such garbage. Granted he wasn't fed like that all his life but during his first few years he got cat food, monkey biscuits, pinkies as well as greens. Care has come a long way in 20 years...thank God

Wow, that is a large ig.
Yeah it hurt a little. I did more damage by getting startled by it and moving my head the other way. so instead of him letting go (hes bit me by accident before, like if i had fruit juice on my finger) and he lets go really quickely. but since i jerked away his teeth cut like 6 gashes into my earlobe. It bled like crazy too. But it stopped bleeding shortly and doesnt look that bad now.

Your observant I didn't even look at their pic. Looks like a string around its tail with one of those sliding lock beads (dont know what they call them).

L0wrider Dec 01, 2005 05:43 PM

Its a hind leash. Its a long string with a barrel clamp on it. Its safer for Igs than the neck leash.
