i took the tiles/sand suggestions...here is a pic *PIC*

i got the tiles from home depot and filled it in with white sand so it looks nice...these tiles are great too because they are thick so i stack them in certain areas (on top of the UTH) to create like three different levels of heat for the leos which they seem to enjoy Let me know what you think!

very nice. how much did the tiles run you? if you dont mind me asking? and do they get to hot on top of the uth? i thought about doing that but i didnt want to burn their belly's. thanks tanya

That does look very nice. What kind of sand you get. I'm going to do mine later today. Hmm.. getting ideas lol. Seriously how much those tiles run. They do look nice.

i used zoo med vita-sand because it is the finest grade sand available, and i got enough tiles to cover my 20L for like 20-25 bucks at home depot

I used the 12x12 tiles for my 20L and i only payed about $4 but i had to have them cut to size. Ill get a new pic sometime soon with the black sand in the cracks....

...he's a tremper jungle who recently (after 1 and a half years) is starting to develop some nice tangerine colors....he has a nice striped tail too....

Very cool. I like that look a lot. I have large flat rocks with sand around them, the same idea but not tiles. I'll have to find a pic to post. here is a suggestion. To make it look even more natural you could try placing the humid hide behind or under that plant so it can't be seen as well. I personally don't like the look of the plastic hide when it looks like you are trying to have a natural setting. Then you could either put the log or get a rock or something to go where the humid was. Just a thought. But I really like the way you did the tile and sand.

i am going to redo Beanie's tank once we get it back up into my bedroom and am gonna try the sand/tiles or sand/slate idea...it looks really nice and natural. good job!!!
