After Having kept and studied Southern Ringnecks i have noted many things with the species. Firstly i have reliezed that almost all S. Ringnecks have the skiddish behavior and are not to be handled but to actually watch, except for my Adult whom "enjoys" laying on my lap while i am on the computer or just sitting down, I think that most likely it is attracted to the heat of my body. As of right now the adult ringneck is laying on my mouse pad staring at me type. It follows my hand movements where ever i go, also i noticed i can put my finger up to it without him fleeing or being startled but to actually watch my finger. Out of the juviniles i had kept they all were very skiddish and always hiding, but with my adult whom watches things go by when in the cage. It is something im really going to start paying attention to. To see if the snake actually is becoming more acceptable of humans. I also noted that the adult when eating a earthworm, was actually releasing its toxic "saliva" to kill the earthworm, i could actually see the saliva coming out of his mouth, i know that it sounds rediculas but im pretty sure it was because what happened. The earthworm slowly started to stop moving and seemed to come to a paralized stage where it could barely move except pull its body a little bit to make it shorter but fatter, which didnt help it at all. and then the ringneck let go and grabed him head on to eat him, and did. The adult which i found in my front yard, is most likely older the age of 2 or 3, because ive seen it as a adult for over a year(when i first saw it, i know that its the same due to its under markings). The first time that i collected him he was very skiddish and always musked at me and tried to hide and get away. Well my second capture of him which is recently, now he is great and extremly docile. Its odd how he changed in a period of time over the past few days. I just wanted to share my thoughts with you. Im sorry if it wasnt anything that will amuse you because you red this for so long.
