just as someone stated below, ball's don't really get rained on for most parts of the year. However, during the rainy season there are tons of large storms that travel across afica on a daily basis. with that said every snake i own, even the rainforest dwelling rainbow boa tend to shy away from the spray bottle. My assumption is that rain doesn't hit them in the face like a ton of bricks as the mist does out of a bottle. What I try to do is spray the tops of my rubermaid's if they have them or do a ground misting away from the snake itself to boost the humidity during shedding. At all other times my snake room is maintained at 60-65 % humidity with a room humidifier. hope this helps, Josh Hutto.......JKReptiles
