hey all,

my name is adam, i am a king snake keeper by hobby, but my girlfriend likes BRB so we got her a real nice onea while back and she was always super mellow when we got and she ate like a champ all the time and still does, but now you can tell when she is going to be nippy or not, i dont care if i get bit because it wouldnt be the first time, and it kinda makes me laugh but i have never met such a moody snake, but its an all of a sudden moodiness, he fecal is clean her scales are clean humidity stay constent at 80% her temp stays constent 83 (thermostated). do they just go through moody phases? because sometimes she is a puppy dog and other times she just snaps snaps snaps. well if you could tell me what you think i would appreciated it, oh and she is fed on a diet of rat pups and quail

Adam,
..Welcome to the forum. It is possible that your BRB is biting because you are keeping it too hot. Try dropping the cage temperature so that you get the low 70s on the cooler end of the cage and the high 70s on the warmer end of the cage. All of my little BRBs are currently in small cages so that I cannot provide a temperature gradient and the entire cages are in the mid 70s. All of them are totally mellow. Let us know how it goes with cooler temperature.

i knew i had to keep her cooler but i didnt realize that cool so i will go home and get the thermostat down to like 77-79 and see what she will act like in a few days, thanks alot for the advise i appreciate it and i am sure i will be back on here with a few more questions, thanks again,
