Vitamin and Calc. DUsting of food for young Beardie

louiec Jul 23, 2003 11:27 AM

I just purchased a young beardie this sunday (vendor told me its was born on May 17th)... well I have never owned a beardie this lil... so I was wondering how often do you dust their crickets when they are this young... I have heard so many things from dusting with the Multi Vit and Calcium once a week (each on a seperate day) to doing the calcium every day and only the Multi vit once a week.
If someone could help me out... I would greatly appreciate it...

thanks Lou

At that young of age I dust 6 days a week with rep-cal brand calcium and vit d3. I dust 1 time a week with herptivite brand multi-vitamins.

just wondering at what age do you usually change the "dusting" cuz It seems like I need to change how I dust my older beardies crix.

well, it's not so much the age but size and weight. As mine reached adult size around 16-18 inches and 350-400 grams I cut back the dustings to 4 days a week calcium d3 once with multi vitamin. My dragons now are all over 18 inches and 500 grams the largest being 22 inches and 714 grams and still get supplimented 5 times a week.
