1 month as a chameleon owner

dianedfisher Nov 30, 2005 05:52 PM

I received my little Ambanja Panther Chameleon, Thraxxis, one month ago. Thanks to several of you (Vegasbilly is my hero) I believe he is growing and thriving. I've still NEVER seen him eat anything or shoot his tongue, but he appears to be growing and the poop is coming from somewhere-LOL. Thanks for all of your help. Since this is my first chameleon, if you notice something wrong with the picture PLEASE tell me. I love him to pieces and I wouldn't want anything to go wrong. Diane

Congrats, Diane - he sure is a little cutie!

Yup, the poop is a good sign Are you free ranging crickets in the cage? If so, be a bit careful as crickets will nibble on chams if there is no food around. If they are, leave a bit of carrot or something for them overnight. Haven't read your posts (just sort of getting back here) so not sure of your setup, SO LONG AS HE CAN FIND HS FOOD ok. (OOPS - sorry about caps). If you hand or cup feed and get a routine down so that he expects food at a certain time of day you will probably see him eat - feeding them is half the fun of keeping them!
