feeding question

rehabella Dec 01, 2005 09:41 AM

I was wondering if it would be better to buy crickets for my beardies online or local pet shop? I find I spend $12.00 for 10 dozen crickets. If It would be better online then what company is best to order from?
Thank YOu

Deffinitely better to buy in bulk. Best t hing to do is prepare a rubbermaid container with egg carton (no substrate is needed), have a good stock of gut load, or fish flakes and fresh mixed greens (same kind of greens normally fed to your dragons, but this will need to be changed daily, as the mold/rot from the greens can kill the crickets, not to mention increasing the stink from the cage). The greens also serve as a water source, providing it is changed daily. Other sources of water are orange slices, potatoe, carrots, zuccini, uncooked squash etc. I don't trust the jelled water stuff but that is more my own opinion. I have heard the jelled water can solidify in crickets, which in turns becomes transfered to your dragon.
