especially the Silverbacks? I think they are amazingly beautiful, and IMO, the most unique looking of the localities, yea they don't appear to be too popular. Can anyone shed some light on their temperments? Any information on them?

I love my silverback. She is a complete sweetheart. I agree they are easily one of the best looking localities. The same could be said about longicuadas.

my Bolivian's are my favorite pure Boas!
I love my silverback, he's always eaten and is my gentlest snake, along with being a specular silver most of the time.

I agree, I love the silver look, but yet to me they lack the red tail....I know it's taboo...LOL...but imagine them with a Suri tail....I would have to buy one then. Andy
I happen to agree with you. Silverbacks are far and away my
favorite boa.
I bought a pair a year ago, and they are incredibly beautiful
animals. They're just as docile and tractable as BCI, only
much pettier. Their skin is smoother...
I think the popularity of morphs and the fact that Silverbacks
cost more than regular boas plays a factor. It seems many people
look at their boas as an investment, looking towards breeding
morphs, and recouping their doll-ahs...

premium stock sells out FAST. There are some exceptional breeders working with amaizing animals, and they sell quickly. To be honest, I think they have a good following for an animal that doesn't always get a good return on investment. I love them though, and am working towards adding color to mine. I have a Orange Crush from Kevin Barnett (Joe Terry '86 X '89 lines), and a Blonde from Barry Miller. I hope to clean them up, and add more color, while keeping strong pattern deffinition. After college I will try a similar path with Peruvian BCC.
Got any pictures of that one from Barnett? I do a lot of buisness with them (just picked up a pair of peruvians from them) and I know their 86' x 89' pair are in cooling now. May be somethign else to add to the wish list.

He is starting to pull in some color on his back now, his sides and belly have been red/orange since I got him August '04. They are definately worth getting, email Kevin I am sure he has pictures to share.

Pretty nice animal from what I can see. I'll e-mail kevin in a couple weeks...he's gotten about 15 from me in the last week so I'm sure he'll welcome the break lol. I live about...15 min away from them so I'll give um a call and see if he feels like hanging out and showing them off one day.

I live in PA, but talk to Kevin often through email or phone, he is a great guy to chat with. I wish I could see some of his stock, the only animals I have seen were those he had in Daytona and those which I bought.
Kevin is a great guy, and his collection is insane. It took my several months and close to $2k to get to see it though haha. Walking me around every cage he stopped I heard "This one's great....but is it gonna bite me today? yea, it's gonna try...lets see...ouch!" lol. Not sure what it is, but everything that comes out of that place has an attitude. And some of the stuff they have there....lets just say my jaw has hit the floor several times.

Pah, and I just send him an email inquiring about the Orange Crush bolivians he has.
I'm dying to get some. Post another pic, who ever posted the first one, with some light in it.
I've seen some photos from Philip N. .I forgot his last name (sorry).
I still owe a little more before my first pair of bolivians comes.
I hope he doesn't mind if I post his photo. Photo is courtesy of Ed Lilley of Constrictors Northwest.

Now everyone go buy yourself some bolivians!

Well, ALL might have been a slight exageration. I have a Biak GTP from them that bites. And I have a pair of het albino balls that hiss a lot and sometimes strike. But I also have 2 normals balls that are angels, and a Aru GTP that's a sweetheart. The pair of peruvians I just picked up I was told "you can pick um up, but they will bite you"...the female hissed. the male acted like he was gonna strike. since leaving their facility, neither had either hissed or struck.
