Which Boas stay around 4' to 7' besides the Hog Island?

skyfire_1 Dec 01, 2005 10:51 AM

Which Boas stay around the 4 foot, to 7 foot length besides the Hog Island. I didn't want to get much larger than that for a couple of reasons. Thanks...

Almost every central american bci will be in the range of 4-5' as adults. Some even smaller. Most insular Boas would probably max out at 3-4' at most.

So here are some examples...

Nicaragua - mainland form, or insular Corn Island Boas

Panama - mainland form, or insular such as the Pearl Island Boas
Costa Rica - mainland form, or insluar such as the FireBellies of Roatan Island and others

Mexico - Tarahumara, Sonoran, Cancun and more... Some of Gus' Mexican Boas breed at 3-3 1/2 feet long.

Other insular boas such as Cay Caulkers and Crawl Cay Boas, from an island off Belize.

I'm sure there are some I left out, and then there are those rarities that aren't even available, but some may mention anyhow. I have to get back to work... lol

Take care, Joe

Here are some of these boas...

A Hypo Cancun, a Hypo Sonoran Boa, and a Hypo Aberrant Honduran Boa

Longicauda is my favourite boa, and I have a gorgeous yearling with a golden wash, and an out of this world pair of black and silver aneries, very much enthralled with them all already, and looking forward to watching them develop.

One look at the ad and I knew I had to have them, and they are every bit as beautiful in person, very sweet temperments too. These are my dream boa pair.

Here is the female.

Lonicaudas are by far one of my favorite boa's . I have a young female and she is great , eats just about anything and has the best temperment ever . They stay pretty small which is a good thing I guess . Costa Rican boa's don't get that big either and are very pretty . Also Nicaraguan boa's don't get very big .
Good luck
