how common are anery and hypo alterna?

kirkpatrick Dec 01, 2005 01:30 PM

A couple months ago I acquired a 2.4 breeding group of double het for hypo and anery black gap alterna. Before that I had never heard of any greyband morphs. So I was wondering how common they are.

Not enought time has passed to produce large quantities. The black gaps have been aroung the longest, and they have the only hypo's to their credit. They are also the largest in numbers produced, Ala Dan Johnson. I am not sure if the Sanderson's or the Juno's were next as far as anery go's. I don't know of anyone else that has the anery Sanderson's and I have heard of only one person that has the anery Juno. If anyone know's of others I would like to hear about them. The fact that they are locality animals makes it more attractive to me.....Ric Blair

I also have two other adult males (blairs phase, no locale)that are het for calico. There was only one calico produced by evan stahl so not really sure if it's genetic or not. but he breed it once and then got rid of all his greybands. I have two of the males from that clutch but i'm not sure if it is something i want to try reproducing because of all the hold backs. to bad the two i have aren't a pair. maybe i should check them just to be sure.

And more important to me is if it was a locality alterna. If you see any pictures or can direct me to one I would like to see it. What would make it a calico with all the strange patterns and morphs? Thanks....Ric Blair
