My Coastal carpet refuses to eat

canadian_cartel Dec 01, 2005 03:24 PM

Ok I'm at my wits end with this snake . the problem I am having is that my 4 month old coastal carpet python won't eat . It's been about 3 weeks since she last eaten so i'm getting alittle worried . I keep offering her food but she just doesn't eat. I feed her frozen pinky's and I've tried feeding her live but he just won't eat.So I was wondering if any one could give me a .couple tips on how to get her to eat.I am also wondering if this maybe from hypernation. If anyone could help me out alittle that would be great appreciated.
Thanks Max

a couple of things i can think of is try bigger size meal. like fuzzies or even hoppers. is she going into a shed cycle?
how are the temps? could be she just isn't hungry.
i have a 7 foot male jungle carpet that has refused food since september. i bought a higher wattage light in hopes it will kick start him into eating again. also i've heard its mating season for adults but you don't have to worry about that since yours is only 4 months.
i wish i could help more.
