Ground Turkey meat mix preference?

socialtatts Dec 01, 2005 03:42 PM

So, some people like to feed their monitors turkey meat. I was wondering how some people prefer it? I have heard some people cook it to prevent passing anything. Some feed it raw, and some make the San Diego mix and freeze it in ice cube trays or chuncks then thaw it and feed. I feed turkey sometimes and I am just curious how others are preparing it. Thanks for any comments.

Your so called "San Diego mix" is best due to being easy to have available and being raw is easy to digest. I would think raw has its dangers so at least keep your hands clean...I would think less likely than chicken to carry salmanela

I was also wondering about switching my savannah over to turkey and was wondering what everyones recipes for the mix is. i know it involves ground turkey, calcium supplement, and i have heard to add eggs too or something... so i was just wondering what anyone with experience in feeding the turkey diet had found works best. thanks.

I have seen the San Diego zoo crushes a vitamin into the mix? I am actually looking into more info on this so I cant give you a for sure menu

True, thanks anyways. My savannah currently refuses to eat anything that doesn't move, so I guess I should work on that first, anyways.
