Except coloration and origin. The object to focus on is CBB.. this is what makes the difference in temperment.
Yellowheads are a natural coloration which come from numerous different locales- Ambon, Thailand, and Bali are just to name a few. When you cross a YH with a silver or standard its more like mixing paint. By focusing you YH breeding you can enhance yellowhead traits/coloration.
YH coloration is viewed as brighter in that yellow is more visible/striking than brown-gray tones (note*firehydrants, taxi's,curb edges, trafficlines), thus more striking in contrast.
However there are some knockout silverheads out there that rival a good YH in contrast/crispness, due to the lightness of silver and the background yellow of patterning. I believe Mark Kennedy produced some killer silvers, that a person would occasionally post pictures of here on KS.
Hopefully they can post some striking silver pics for you.
I will put up some YH pics as well. Hope this helped.
