My Little Grow Out Racks

byron.d Dec 01, 2005 07:01 PM

I'm pretty damn proud of these little racks that I sort of made.
They're plastic storage units from office maxx that I slightly modified and heated with ultratherm mats up the back. I get a perfect heat gradient and my hatchlings and yearlings have plenty of light, room, and air. Not bad for less than $60 total....

Wouldn't it be real nice if some one actually made a snake specific item like that that you did not have to adapt and at those kind of prices?

Looks good too. Good luck.

Bob.

My overwhelming concern when looking at those things at the store is the potential for escapees....

Is this not a problem in your racks?

every storage unit on the market until I found one that would not need much modification to be made escape proof. This line of Iris units hit the mark. All it took was one 1/4 inch piece of foamcore attached to the frame above each drawer to completely seal them.

I'm very happy with them.

thanks. Byron.d

do you think you could get a picture of how they had to be modified to be escape proof. these look like a really good way to make a cage in a bind or when the animal is unexpected. thank you.

Is there a model number or name, or could you just give the dimensions?
Thanks in advance.
