Eastern garter from the Appalachian Mts.....

mattbrock Dec 01, 2005 10:56 PM

This has to be one of the greatest snakes I've ever caught in the wild. Grabbed her up in the Mts. in western North Carolina this summer. She's been a great feeder since day one. Enjoy!!

Cameron, yes I have a male that we caught about a mile or so down the road from her. He looks very similar too.

Very nice. Obviously tame. Looks like she has some good size on her too.

I'm sure she'd make some incredible offspring.

Honestly, she could be gravid as I'm typing this. I kept them together for a few weeks when I got home with them cause they bred in the car floorboard just minutes after we caught them...lol. I started colling them and feeding less for the winter and she's getting larger. So now I have put her back on heat and she's eating really well. Who knows, I may have a Christmas surprise!

I myself prefer the back seat (bad joke, couldn't resist).. That's awesome that they were mating right after getting caught. Hopefully you're right about her being pregnant; I'm sure you won't have a problem selling the babies
