Shedding: How long after eyes cloud over?

quantim0 Dec 01, 2005 11:23 PM

I was just wondering how quick a BP sheds after it's eyes cloud over. All my other snakes I don't really pay attention to but my BP I think I have to. I can't get my humidity up in my vision cage w/ aspen. I think that visions are the worst for keeping humidity up.

Also I am thinking of switching over to newspaper to help keep the humidity up. I used cypress but I feel uncomfortable about feeding on that substrate. So I think newspaper would be the best bet for me.

Mine take anywhere from 4 days to a week and a half.
I've noticed Damien will go blue, then clear for 2-3 days THEN shed.

thats what guinness, my ball did. he was cloudy for almost a week and wouldnt eat or shed. then his eyes got clear but he obviously didnt shed. then, like two days later he shed finally. it was kind of a long process compared to any of my other snakes. with them it seems as soon as i noticed they are cloudy, the next day they shed.
