Hello,
I am wondering how many of you have found that the normal female reached sexual maturity in 24-26 months or do most take another season after that?

HOOPY
Keep in mind that the breeding season is basically 6 months before the hatching season so it's about 18, 30, and 42 months for the windows of opportunity to get an animal to breeding season in time to produce babies when they are 2, 3, or 4 respectively.
I do a pretty poor job of feeding as I can't raise my own feeders and must budget to purchase them weekly or bi-weekly but out of four 2000 girls I got two of them to breed at 30 months so as to produce babies when they are 3 and the other two should go by 4. I would think a person with a good feeding scheme (every 5 days or at least not missing any weeks) could easily take a year off of this and get some to go by 18 months (babies at 2) and the rest to go by 30 months (babies at 3).
I will be breeding 5-7 '02 females this season (nov. start)
I also have a 2001 female that is finally ready. The 2002 girls were hatched out in feb of 2002, so when they are bred, they will be about 20 months old. I was told as long as they have the proper size, age isnt always most important. I use 1500ish gram and up females.
