uro bloat?

WEEBEASTIES Dec 02, 2005 02:27 PM

So my normally vigorous saharan male is sleeping all day and he appears bloated. When I approach him he serpentines his middle. He and his mate are about two years old,and are kept on small bird seed.(no sunflower, just millet sized seed) They are feed endive, mustard greens, some peas and/ or lentils. This behavior is unusual for him. I have soaked him twice with no poop results so I am conserned its constipation but I'd appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks.

are you talking about him giving you the s-dance when you approach him?
my first thought was impaction. if you can get close enough to him, try to feel his stomach for anything maybe hard. when in doubt, go to the vet. some impactions can be deadly

Yep I would call what he's doing an dance. He feels like a lizard full of air actually. He has no hard spots or lumps , just sorta looks like hes a bit overinflated. Thanks for any help.
