Tease Feeding F/T

johnbort2 Dec 02, 2005 05:37 PM

Does everyone tease their Rainbows to get them to eat? My corns, I just put the mice in with em and when they find them they eat em. My new Argentine Rainbows had all been tease fed, you think they will eat without that stimulation. I am going to try and see, but just wanted to know if it's something that boas will/won't do.

Since I've switched from a rat pup every week to two rat pups every two weeks, mine are usually hungry enough that as soon as they touch the floor they've got 'em. Then again they've haven't needed coaxing since they first arrived several months ago - very good appetites.

PS. I feed live, not frozen.

John,
...If they are hungry they will usually just pick it up off the bottom of the feeding box. Sometimes if a snake does not seem interested I will dangle the dead rodent with forceps. This often works. If the rodents are small I usually feed them live to the snakes.
Good luck,
Jeff
