Oddity Turtles Wanted, Any Help?

Circusfan Dec 02, 2005 08:49 PM

Hello everyone. I am looking for any oddity turtles. I currently have two, two headed turtles and a siamese twin turtle. They are so cute! I love these little guys. They seem very personable. So I am asking if anyone knows of where I could look to get a couple more little guys. The ones I have, I got from the classified's on this site, but didn't know if there was anywhere else I could look. Thanks in advance.

Im curious how much you paid for your 2 headed turtles. I have never seen one personally, im just curious how much they would cost.

There are some factors that go in to determine the value of a two headed. The health of the animal, the size, whether both heads are fully developed and eating, etc.... The general price range is anywhere from $300 to $800.

Is it a genetic trait? I am sure no honest person would breed for deformities I am just curious to know if it is genetic or has something to do with development in the egg.

It's conjoined twins basically. The eggs splits in two not fully. Sometimes you get two heads sometimes siamese twins.
A friend of mine hatched out a bearded dragon with two complete developed bodies attached to one perfect head. VERY STRANGE.

The last post is absolutely correct. It's just a birth defect. Some live, some don't since you don't really know what's going on inside of them. I would love to see pics. of the two bodied bearded dragon!

I'll have to ask my friend to send them to me. Unfortunately, it died. It was doing well and growing too. Then he had a mishap. He fell on to his back into a shallow water dish (with the slightest amount of water in too) and drowned. My friend was total wrecked about it.

It was an amazing animal. Incredible how it managed to coordinate the the two bodies with one head. The head was pretty normal looking too so I would guess it was one brain that was managing the two bodies.

I know just how he feels. My first two headed turlte drowned much the same way while I was out running errands. VERY shallow water, but it happened. What did your friend do with it may I ask? Feel free to email me off the board: Ses@sescarny.com
