odd boa

kkierstead Dec 03, 2005 08:00 AM

Hi everyone. I got a baby boa a couple weeks ago. She has a very thin oval circleback pattern and has some reduced black pigment. Her sides are a light grey on top and bottom with her side patterns being almost washed out white looking. The thing that gets me is that her eyes are more gold than grey. A friend of mine swears she looks like a hypo nic. I really wish I had camera to show her off.

Without a pic it is hard to tell for sure. But I would have to doubt that it is a hypo Nic if she was not bought as one. With the market being the way it has been it would be extremely rare if it slipped by as a normal.

Hypo Nics have been commanding a pretty penny these days, and because of this popularity, they (importers) are very careful when they classify what comes in.

Get some pics if you can, and we should be able to tell.

hypo nic male (not a very good hypo)

Thanks for the response. I knew you really wouldn't be able to tell without a picture. I just recentley got into the boas and I am trying to learn all about thier locals and morphs. The place I got her from breeds all kinds of snakes, and he relly don't have backround on a lot of his snakes. My first boa I got from him was bought as a high pink, and she's looking like a pastel. Thet are probably both just normals, but you can't blame a girl for wishing. I'm going to see if I can get my hands on a camera.

Thanks, Kim

No problem, I was not saying it is impossible, just improbable. People get lucky every day.

Please post pics if you can, I am very curious to see it.
