Hey Gavin, nice for you to join me on my home turf
Honestly, I havn't done many herp fecals, but it's really the type of worm as opposed to the exact species that is necessary for treatment.
The photos look like roundworm eggs as Kelly mentioned. If you can focus in more on the outer shell of the egg you may be more successfull in identifying the egg. If they are striated inwards, they'd be a tapeworm, while a smooth or rough but SOLID shell, would be more of a roundworm style, but is less characteristic to solely roundworms.
Are these from your drymarchon? How are they doing?
If you'd like further help, your vet will be able to ID them enough for treatment, Dr. Klingenberg's book is a common "self-help" book that is helpfull, and for exact identification, your entomology club or some other facet of the university would be your best bet.
Ian
yes, they are from the little Drymarchon. The reason I posted them is to see if anyone was going to see something which might give them the idea it was anything but worm eggs. There were a few eggs which looked like coccidia since they were "split." She was treated with panacure twice and her fecals are coming up clean...but like I mentioned...only a few slides had eggs which looked more like coccidia...so maybe it is a light case. I have a friend who loves looking at poop so we are going to keep a pretty close eye on her. She is eating pretty well and much healthier than when I got her.
Thanks again Kelly and Ian. Talk to you soon. (your "turf" I like that)
