Does anyone have this problem with BTS?

rich_123 Jul 23, 2003 01:18 PM

One of my skinks sometimes steps in his own stool, which of course smears the stuff all over the floor of the enclosure and himself. I use newspaper as the substrate. Let me know if you had this problem and maybe you could give me some pointers on how to stop this behavior, if that's even possible.

Do you soak your skink in water to clean him off a bit. That's what I usually do or do you think it is unnecessary except in very dirty circumstances.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I really hate it when he smears the stuff on the walls and I have to scrub to get it off.

I keep mine outdoors so I just let them be. But if I kept them in tanks as I did in the past, I would wash them off. And just make sure to clean up their messes daily or as soon as you see it.
