Need Opinions/Suggestions on Cages

nevermore Dec 03, 2005 06:01 PM

I'm looking to get my eastern indigo her "adult" cage and am looking into plastics (I like the idea of something light). I'm looking for something in the general area of 6'x3'x2'.

The companies I've been looking at include Vision, Boaphile Plastics, Animal Plastics, and Cages by Design.

Does anyone have any experience with these - suggestions - or suggestions for other companies/sources?

thank you,

Josh

If light is what you are going for then Animal Plastics is out of the equation. Vision would probably be the least hassle (not built in multiple sections) and lightest of the ones you mention.

I would recommend Animal Plastics. A big bulky cage of the size that you mention would be very difficult and expensive to ship or move. The AP cages and racks break down and stack very quickly. They are also quick and easy to assemble. Solid construction, lots of attention to detail, very competitive pricing and from my personal experience, the best customer service.

For a cage with 3' depth I think Vision is your best choice. See if there are any shows in your area where you can pick one up. Some reptile distributors bring them to shows and don't charge shipping. That's now my friends buy all of theirs but they do live near major metropolitan areas.

Oh, thank you! It hadn't even occured to me to check out a show. In a couple of weeks I'll be heading home from school and will be in the Chicago area and I'm sure I can find one.
