how is it possible to tell apart between an Elaphe guttata emoryi and an Anerysthric Corn?

Anery corns lack the red pigment and have yellow pigment.
Here is a pic of one from South Mountain reptiles..

And a pic of my GPR...

The GPR usually have alot more browns(reds)where the anery corn will be grey/black, and the anery will have yellows on the sides of the neck.

Once you see them in person it is quite easy to immediately tell the difference. Great plains rats and corns are a bad example though. Since they are so extremely closely related they can/are impossible to tell a hybrid, excluding root beers and creams. But the other common rats I.E. Black Rats, Yellow Rats, Everglades Rats, Bairds Rats, Trans-Pecos Rats, Grey Ratsnake, all have a "bald" head. As in they have little or no pattern on their heads. That is a definate giveaway. Once you start looking around at the different species you will be able to tell them almost instantly just at a glance

i recentley got a baby corn which looks to be an Anery Corn according to Mr HotShot.. it is all grey and black with no brown
the thing is that it doesnt seem to have the "bell" or "arrowhead" pattern u see in most corns

another indication ive heared of is what the "Corn" name comes from.. the pattern on the underside of the snake
Will corns always have that "checkered" pattern while rats will always have random blotches on their underside?

Corns will always have that checkerboard unless they are stripe or motley. I know I can at least vouch for black rats in saying they have a checkerboard too but it doesn't start for 1/3 of their body.
