Poss Het Thread, Con't!

cmlreptiles Dec 04, 2005 09:16 AM

I know there's a thread at the bottom of the page, but I noticed something with my het/poss het animals I thougth worth pointing out and wanted to see if others noticed it too. My animals are ball pythons though, so it may prove different...but ya never know.

I have 2 het for albino balls, a poss het clown, and a poss het axanthic along with 4 normals. I wish my dig camera wasn't getting worked on so I could show you what I'm talking about, but when I look at them, the het albinos just look.....different. No clue what it is, but they just don't look "normal" to me. So, when picking up the poss hets, I picked out the animals that just looked different to me. Chances are I'll repeat the process next year too, and hold back all the girls that have that special...something.

Has anybody who's proved out poss hets noticed this in their animals, be it boas or other?

do you have a locality on those animals? to compare them to a normal of that locality would make what I'm saying more obvious. but the 100% dbl het def does have a "different" look than the others.

They are all beautiful snakes but I don't see what you are talking about. All I hear people say is "they just have a different look to them." But why can nobody explain that different look. In my opinion I don't believe it exists. Although, I hope someday I'm proved wrong so I can start saving some money. Beautiful snakes though. I really like the first one you posted. Here are my 66% poss het for Sharp sunglow. Which ones do you think will prove out?

Haha, that's the point, they're just.....different! lol. I can't explain it, but it's there. And as far as your poss hets...I say the middle one. has the best chance of proving out...how long till I find out if I'm right now?

Here's kinda what i'm saying...notice the faded saddles on the dbl het? how they're almost a peach color. same with how the red on the tail isn't quite red. not compare that to the last male you posted...how the tail is bright red, and the saddles are dark and well defined. There just seems to be something "different" all together with het animals.

I think theres alot of stuff you see in het animals that you cant quite put into to words but its there. Alot of people will think your crazy and have too much time on your hands for talking like this but maybe they just dont see it lol.... Nevertheless Ill find out soon if Im right or not cause all those pics are well over a year and a half old and those animals are about grown!! shooting for next season for at least one pair. Rich
