Increased Activity

kongsnake Dec 04, 2005 12:45 PM

We recently tried to feed out Ball Python and he didn't eat. Not unusual for him, but a coupple of days after we tried he had a bowel movement and peed, and then became extremely active. He got out of the aqarium tank and was put back in. For the last week and a half he has been very active in the tank. More so than usual. Do we try and feed him again. We are reluctant to try since we cannot return rats to the store. I have heard that this is the mating time for them. Could he be looking for a mate or should we try to feed him again?

Thanks

That was how I used to judge when to feed mine. I'd feed them, wait for a bowel movement then feed them again. It's hardly necessary to wait that long between feeds, but the excess activity after the bowel movement is often a sign that they are hungry and hunting gain. I'd give it a shot.
