I wen upstairs to check on the eggs and there, staring up at me from the container is my first little leo hatchling ever!!! she is so tiny its unbelievable, but fully formed and alert!!! I gently covered the container back up and am now here to ask if i should leave her in the incubator and if so for how long??? the container has no air holes...should i create another container with air holes and damp paper towels as bedding??? please respond!!!
and thanks to everyone who has been dealing with all my questions about breeding and such...it really has meant alot to me!!! i am going with the name, Pixie, on account of her small size...she is a normal/high yellow but has bright colors!!!

I moved her into a cup with damp paper towels and boy is she a fiesty sucker!!!! She was hissing at me, and then dashed out of the incubator container and was running around on my bookcase's shelf for a few moments before i could pick her up. she then decided to JUMP off my hand, land on the shelf and start running around again. Finally, i just picked her up and set her down in the container where she can now spend today and tomorrow relaxing and calming down before I move her into her tank. I'll post a pic as soon as i can!!!

lol, when i opened the container, i didn't see her at first since she was hiding in the corner, but i looked at the egg all collapsed and practically covered in perlite and it didn't register at first...it was like "what the hell happened to the egg???....oh."

wow, congrats. It is exciting isn't it? Unfortunately my baby died in the egg yesterday I opened the egg and I found a dead fully formed and quite large baby. Oh well, there will be others.

I would say you have plenty of air in the incubator, I would wait around 3 days and open it once or twice a day to circulate the air.

Congrats again, I'm glad your luck turned. How is the other egg?

It is just as large as Pixie's egg was before she hatched and its shell has softened slightly so I think it will hatch maybe today or tomorrow. My first two eggs were still borns as well, it was so sad....i am sure the other eggs will turn out fine, mine have so far.

Heeh,

Congrats there Cleo, See it all paid off in the long run... I leave my hatchlings in the containers for 24 hours after hatching. All of my incubation containers do have air holes however. I'd probably make one and have some paper towels inside for bedding like you asked... Congrats one more time and let us know how it goes....

GREAT JOB,
Richie

So happy to hear your good news! You don't need to leave them in the incubator too long, maybe an hour or so. I move my babies to their new home as soon as i notice them. Make sure to provide your little one with a moist hide all the time. Keep us posted!

Congratulations! This is HAPPY news!!!!!! Aren't they the cutest little things you have ever seen!! It is amazing how little they are when the first hatch, it is also amazing at how fast they grow up.

I always take my babies out of the incubator right when I find them, I never leave them in there. I usually set them up in an enclosure, make it a little moist so thier first shed goes nice and smoothly.

Good luck, I know you will be a GREAT Grandmother!!!
