Unfortunately, that shop keeper has no clue about feeding Leopard Geckos. First of all, a Leo under one year old should be given food every day. Many adult Leos are fine with every other day feedings. Secondly, no matter what their age, they should be given as many feeder insects as they will eat in 15-30 minutes. Plus a small dish of mealworms or superworms can be left in the setup to be eaten at their leisure. I think my Leos would starve if they only got 1-2 crickets every other day. Mine all eat on average between 5-8 appropriate sized crickets and about the same number of small/medium superworms every day. Well, my 2 adults are not eating every day right now and are eating less because they are brumating, but they are usually real pigs LOL Every Leo is different and you may find yours eats less than mine or maybe more. It may not eat every day either, but because it is under a year old, do offer food every day

Thanx, unfortunaetly, I live in HK and over there the meal worms actually ea the leos insides. By the way, the shopkeeper actually killed one of my leos and had to replace it.

I would also like to know how to tell when my gecko is ready to breed (at what age) and if there are any hysical features which enable me to know.

Woah buddy back up. Lets get your leos fattened up a little before you consider breeding. You should also look around for some care sheets because it seems like your shop keeper isn't telling you the best things.

Are your mealworms (Tenebrio Molitor) different from ours? If you are getting Tenebrio Molitors they absolutely will not eat your Leos insides, that is an old wives tale. Even the much larger Superworm (Zophobas Morio) will not harm a Leo. Just think about it, Leos are insectivours, their digestive system is set up to digest insects in particular. Put a mealworm or superworm in a dish of plain water, and see how long they live. Trust me, they die FAST. So just how long would they last in digestive acids, and this is after they have been crunched up prior to being swallowed LOL It just drives me crazy when I see this "mealworms or superworms will eat your Leos insides/stomach" statement because it is so untrue

Again, this info was from the shopkeeper. It is as if he wants my leos to die. ut, it is very hard to find mealworms or superworms in Hong Kong so if you know a good site to order them off, (that will send them to HK) pls tell me.

THANX

None of the feeder insects sites I go to do any overseas shipping. I doubt there are any since the insects don't last very long when packaged for shipment. Have you tried searching the web for sites there in China?
