When the Jetzen Style goes wrong

snakesunlimited1 Dec 04, 2005 11:03 PM

I was trying to get some pics of some calis I have and one of them decided I should take some in hand pics Jetzen style minus the mouse. Got to love that good feed response. This snake just ate a huge meal less than 4 days ago.

Hopefully i am taking a break too. The father of the mystery kings has a lock jaw and a intense feeding response but I don't usually take the time to take pics. He is to big to play with. This little cali was hanging on for about 10 minutes while I took pics and when I finally got it off it latched on to another finger.

Do you more experienced folk find that this biting thing happens more frequently with Albinos than with "normals"? I have an albino banded cal king that is extremely nippy as well, but all my other 5 snakes have all quickly gotten over their nippyness (okay, my Leucy Texas Rat SOMETIMES gets nippy too). Could it be that they simply don't have good eyesight (being albinos) and are simply "over" protecting themselves?
