The myth dies...

Kujo Dec 05, 2005 01:36 AM

I just recently got my bloods. Words cannot express how much i love them. I used to have a red tail boa, ball python, and corn snake...the most common snakes ever. So i decided i wanted something a little different. I sold my 8 ft red tail and began my search for something a little more exotic, something that not everyone has. I saw a picture of a blood python and fell in love and decided that was the snake i needed. People almost immediately began to discourage me. They told me nothing but horror stories and said that they had the most awful temperments. I didnt care, i knew what i wanted. So, at the next local reptile show, i picked up a baby male black blood for $125 from DCH. When i first went to pick it up, i was expecting the worst......nothing happened. Not a hiss or flinch or anything. The greatest snake ever. I immediately began searching for a female. At a different show that i was helping a vendor at, i had the greatest luck ever. At the booth behind us was a 17 month old female red blood for $175. my first thought was "to good to be true." I asked to see it and the dude gave me the ok. It was even nicer than most ball pythons that i have dealt with. I knew what needed to be done. That snake was mine within the first ten minutes of being at the show. I was in luck too, because the show hadnt even started yet and she was already desired by like 5 people. If i had hesitated for even 5 minutes, she'd be gone. I have not and never will regret that purchase. Both snakes are doing awesome and have remained as docile as ever. The female is even used in a weekly petting zoo and tolerates hundreds of people petting her a day, without so much as a hiss. My snakes have converted many blood haters. The myth of evil bloods has been destroyed.

Right on I like stories like this.Hopefully one day people will wake up and realize that bloods aren't as bad as the rumor has it.You should get some pics of the people with your blood that would be cool.

Hey,
Awesome story. It's stories like that that will make many converts out of non believers. Keep up the good work and lots of luck with the new ones. Now post some pictures.

On the other hand, my 170G male will take your hand off, if he could. He actually jumps at me. 120G female is slightly better. They do eat well, however
