Important
Exotic Animal Owners’ Meeting

There were will be an informational and organizational meeting regarding the
upcoming restrictive Ohio legislature which is presently being drafted. This
law, when voted on and placed in effect will effect the current and may prevent
the future ownership of reptiles, felines, primates and many others.
We need to get organized NOW if we want to maintain our rights.

The meeting will be held at
Olde Summit Towne Restaurant
on December 11th, 2005 at 1 pm.

Lunch Buffet is optional at a cost of $11.50.

The address for Olde Summit Towne is 14163 E. Broad Street, Pataskala, OH
43062.

Please contact Evelyn Shaw at 740-964-9040 if you have questions or need
directions.

If you're trying to build a movement against anti-snake legislation, you might consider contacting the Libertarian Party in Ohio. (Maybe you've already thought of this idea, but I might as well mention the whole reason.) While reptiles aren't part of their normal agenda, they oppose laws that interfere with people enjoying their own pleasures on their own property. I'd guess that they would be opposed to more reptile laws on principle, and some might be willing to write letters opposing this legislation. They are very much opposed to all forms of big government, so you'll get farther if you don't start talking about supporting gun control, more taxes, or censorship of any kind when you're around them.

Is there any chance that you'd be able to get someone to host a similar meeting in other parts of the state? If you could get the movement going in several places at once, you'd be more likely to have success.

Good luck,

Bill

Hey Bill,

Definitely a good recommendation. I hadn't thought of that personally, but perhaps someone else has. I would like to see this movement go across other states, however, it will take quite a bit of work and effort to implement. Thanks for the recommendation and the wishes on good luck...I am sure we will need it!

Best Wishes,

Chris
