uro dance

weebeasties Dec 05, 2005 02:02 PM

Thank you to the one who answered my last post. My male uro, Jamani, seems healthy but doesn't come out much in the day time right now and I rarely see his mate, Meka. They are kept at my work so I'm with them all day but not at night. I've been feeding regurally and the food is gone by morning. He also does the "s" dance someone mentioned. Whats up with that? I'm assuming this may be brumation behavior and its his way of saying "quit bugging me". I would appreciate any insight to this behavior change.

the s-dance i mentioned usually means they are aggrevated, i guess it is a good way to get the momentum up to whap that tail, ha ha. the only time i have witnessed it is with helga, two occasions, both times i had to wake her up. once she would not wake up and i really needed to clean their cage so i woke her up and she danced and hissed to the point that i took hugo out of the temporary hold because i thought she might hurt him
the other time i got home late from class and needed to give them their medicine, she was so mean to me that i just skipped the dose that day and did her treatment for an extra day. from now on, i just let sleeping helgas lie
this time of year my guys sleep more, sort of a slow down for the winter so maybe he is tired and cranky. just a thought
