Help this abandoned baby Texas Spiny lizard...

tanias16 May 18, 2003 04:58 PM

My first question never posted, sorry, and i dont know why the other double posted, sorry again.
Here goes:
My little brothers friend had captured a Texas Spiny Lizard about a year ago, and brougth it over here cuz he was tired of it. Poor thing is in bad shape! Its about 3" snv (tail is broken off). The first night he could barely keep his eyes open... I finally got some water in him, and put him in a cage iwth a heat pad. He had been in a 10 gal aquarium with out side unsterile sand, and a box turtle. No heat or UVB. Today he looked a little better, i put him in a different cage, underneath part of my chinese water dragons UVB light, and still a heat pad. Soaked him in some warm water and poweraide to get him some electrolytes, and he finally ate 3 tiny superworms and a redworm. Any suggestions you have to help him out would be greatly appreciated. ALong with any known care specifications, i've had no luck finding a care sheet.
Thanks.
Tania

Try this link. It should help somewhat but there really isn't any specific care sheet for a Texas Spiny. They are very similar to fence lizards though.
