Do you use HELIX, JOHNSON, HERPSTAT II, etc.
And why do use that particular thermostat?
Thank you in advance for any input,

I recently started using the Helix DBS-1000. It seems to be doing the job pretty well using flexwatt. I really don't know which brand is better. Helix was the only brand beanfarm had when i purchased several vison cages. I can keep the temps pretty steady, so no complants. I was having a problem with the top cages getting a litte hotter than the lower ones, but i put a dimmer boxes in between the flexwatt of the top cages and the helix and now it's much better. I am interested to hear what other have to say as i am in the market for another therm setup.

I use Ranco. I do b/c I just have to go with a name that has been trusted by snake keepers for years. Very reliable.

Helix DBS 1000, or Herpstat. Either is good, digital proportional is superior. Also, if you are using Flexwatt or similar, it specifically says to use a proportional thermostat.
In my main and quarantine snake rooms I use an oil filled heater to maintain proper ambient temperatures. To ensure ambients stay right where I want them I use ranco thermostats to regulate the oil filled heaters.
Most of my cages are also run off of Ranco on/off stats but I do have one Helix (DB-1000 I think is the model). They both keep very consistant hot spot temperatures. I reccomend them both.
