Care for spotted sally ?

Jeanin Dec 06, 2005 04:45 AM

Hi
I have 4 fire salamanders which are about 5 yrs old. They are kept in my cool basement all year long temps in summer are like 68 and winter are like 55 . I keep a both pairs in seperate 40 inch by 20 inch enclosures .
I am going to get 2 marbled sallys this weekend and think 55 might be to cool for them. I intend to house them both in a clear sweater box that is 27 inches long and 16 wide .
My questions are same set up as fires (terrestrial with hide areas)? and is 55 to cool for them ? I have another room its 65 degrees I could use that for the winter for them if 55 to cool.
The rest of house is 72 degrees.

Thanks
