i dont know if any of you have seen this picture before but its a good reminder why not to leave live rodents in with your snakes.

Defending his light,
And wondering...
Where the hell have I been?
Sleeping, lost, and numb.
So glad that I have found you.
I am wide awake and heading home.

ya i saw it on Pro Exotics fact page. it say's that the bp was still alive when they took the pic and they had to humanly put the bp down. very sad. that is why we are switching our two baby's to f/t

wow that's awful, i wonder how long that took? he looks really bad, and i bet it wasn't along with the rodent for very long. they have such good teeth, and most non venemous snakes just don't have a that great of a defense. i hope everyone who feeds live waits until the snake kills the mouse to leave it alone with prey. i know it's not feasible with thousands of snakes needing to be fed, but such a shame... that poor snake

Yeah this pic was posted a long time ago.

I think everyone agreed that the story was fabricated.

More likely a small python was left in a tub with a rat or gerbil for a week or so. I know that the majority of big breeders feed live and most of them do not baby sit their snakes. They just come back within an hour or two and take out any remaining live rats/mice. Completely safe practive, don't get taken in by myths and rumors
