wild mutants are not exempt...

when calif. protected its herps...the mutants that were already in captivity were grannied.....this law has been mirrored in other states...but this snake species is already protected...this is awild snake under the protection of the law it is protected from capture,commercial exploitation and barter or sale...as would be its progeny...unless collected by a permited person that would be allowed to commercially exploit it....now what if someone caught it..and in 2 years or so...said"YO.....YOUSE GUYS...LOOKIT AT WHAT MY LEGAL COLONY OF INDIGOS HAS PRODUCED!!!!!!!!!!!!.....AND I"VE KEPT IT A SECERT........SO I HAVE BABY HETS AVAILABLE.......
.............who would know????????...but of course no one would ever think of doing that..............

It is possable to bust people using DNA and from what I remember this was done in a european sting opporation. Falcons were tested for a DNA match against supposid breeding stock parents.
