Rabbit Bottle tricks?

venombill Dec 06, 2005 05:43 PM

I have a dozen Rabbit hutches I set up through out the year, but didn't think about this problem. Is there any quick fix cheep tricks to keeping the bottles from freezing at night? Thanks, Billy

If you have an aotumatic watering system perhaps you might want to think about insulating the pipes that feed your sipets with pipe insulator you know the foar stuff and also your source of water try putting in a horse watery to keep it above freezing or better yet put in a water heater similar to reptiles.. put it on max to heat the water as hot as it can get so that it does stay above freezing in the pipes

I raised rabbits years ago and always used crocks for the water, then in winter I would bring out a few jugs of hot water and defrost the crocks then refill...You could always switch to crocks for winter only and then use the bottles in summer.
