I have just adopted iguana #2 (sid). I have read many pages on owning multiple igs , especially Melissa kaplans page. They tell you how to introduce a new ig into the old ones enclosure and as well to the old ig face to face (on neutralground)..but what if one iguana is free roam like kitty my first one , and the other was in an enclosure like sid?
Where would neutral ground be since kitty has the run of the house so to say?
Also since sid was not free and I plan on letting him be which would be the best way to go about this? Do I just let him out supervised bit by bit until he is accustomed, or just let him go as is? (the house is already ig proofed for kitty, but couldn’t it be unsafe for the new guy?)
As far as the two meeting each other I pretty much understand what is all involved, but I am curious as to whether I should wait till sid is more manageable (his previous owner didn’t have the time to put into him as well as kept him in an enclosure where her dogs could jump and sniff around ) so he is pretty angry. Kitty on the other hand is a big passive sooky baby (I don’t think he knows he’s a lizard, lol). And I know igscan intimidate one another “alpha ig” and all. I would like to avoid a trip to the vet from biting if at all possible.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks
