eunectes4 Dec 06, 2005 10:16 PM

I posted a little bit back about my 1933 gram E. murinus. I knew she was a bit on the light side so I figured i would try and jump her back with birds...not sure if I am getting great results but here is the recent schedule she had. (O= what was offered, T = if she "Took" it, R= if she "Refused it"

11-07-05 9 pm weighed 1933g
-- (11-08-05) O 1 f/t med. (125g) rat – R (12:35 am) (appeared to show interest, tank had no water)
(was not showing interest when re-checked at 2 am)
+ (11-08-05) O 1 f/t med. (90-100g) chick scented rat – T (3:45 am)
(Drastic feeding response change) (ate on land out of my hand with baby chick also in hand for added scent)
-- (11-13-05) O 1 f/t med. (100-125g) chick scented rat – R (12:20 am)
(left at edge of large water tub, still there when returned at 1:30 am. Snake had left water)
+ (11-13-05) O 1 f/t (45g) chick & f/t med (125g) rat tied to (45g) chick – T (2:30 am)
(teased with both meals while in large water tub)
-- (11-18-05) O 1 f/t med. (141g) rat – R (5:35 am) (in white water dish)
11-26-05 eyes blue, in shed

I read about your little problem and may be you try quail or chicks. and how many times has your conda eaten a rat? Iread about a method used on boa constrictors, but I never needed to try it.

Hello havent posted on here for a while. I just saw your message and photo. Is that pic a male or female. How big is it? You know how long it is? I have a small girl. She refused food for a good month and a half in not two. But she is eating healthy and steady now on frozen thawed or pre killed rats. She is between 40-45 inches. I got her in the end of April 2005. She is just now starting to really grow. She was thickening out for a while there after she first started feeding. She is very healthy and happy now. You have any questions just get back to me. I also have a bigger Burmese that has eatin very well since I got her. I love getting questions about my snakes, or snakes in general. I think the best way to learn is by hearing about or witnessing true experiences. Anyway keep posting photos. I will start to post more photos in the near future as well. -Later

Hey E4,
Good luck man! You have some late feedings! You might want to try feeding around Dusk and Dawn, those are proposed times to feed. I always get the most activity in feeding my snakes around those times also, so it's worth a try. Good luck again with the weight problem, hopefully she will become a little better with eating for you.
